Christian Counseling
The counseling team at James River Church offers confidential, Christian Counseling to individuals, couples and families who are facing challenges in life. Our philosophy is based on empowering people of all ages to live life by biblical standards, first, by listening to their needs and then following the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Premarital Counseling
This 6-session premarital track is designed for engaged couples to explore what God has to say about the institution of marriage. Couples who wish to get married at James River Church or have a James River Pastor as their officiant are asked to complete these sessions before their wedding day.
Counseling for Individuals
One-on-one counseling is available for all ages as a way of addressing challenges such as depression, addiction, loss and divorce grief. Our purpose in these sessions is that your faith in the healing power of God would grow and strengthen you in your situation.
Couples Counseling
In counseling sessions for dating or married couples, our staff focuses on asking questions to understand and determine the best course of action to restore broken relationships and resolve conflict.
Family Counseling
Family Counseling can look different based on the needs of each family. As in all other forms of counseling, our goal is to use the principles of Scripture to guide and determine the best course of action for a healthy family relationship to occur. This can include individual or group counsel.

Financial Counseling
As a part of our Community Care ministry at James River Church, we offer budget planning and financial counseling meetings for those looking for wisdom and direction in that area.
