Job Summary

To work closely with the James River Preschool Academy Coordinator in managing food preparation, cleanup, and purchasing and collection of all meal items.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties

 
 

  • Order/purchase food items needed for each week’s meals: breakfast, lunch, and snacks
  • Coordinate shipments of food
  • Pick up food orders, as needed
  • Maintain receipts for food purchases
  • Upload receipts to appropriate expense report app
  • Clean breakfast dishes in Preschool Academy kitchen
  • Follow menus to prepare lunches in First Baptist kitchen
  • Prepare lunches in Preschool Academy kitchen when there is a conflict with FBC kitchn
  • Bring lunches to Preschool Academy kitchen for distribution to classrooms at 11:45am
  • Prepare individual milk cartons and distribute to classrooms with appropriate condiments for the meals
  • Clean up First Baptist Church kitchen food prep areas, returning all items to original locations (leave cleaner and better)
  • Implement behavior and social-emotional health and well-being plan/curriculum
  • Follow the state licensing guidelines regarding food preparation
  • Follow state guidelines for sanitation requirements
  • Follow CACFP guidelines for food purchasing, preparation and distribution
  • Provide any additional preschool support as needed

Job Requirements

 
  • Complete requested background screening prior to start date
  • Complete fingerprints with the state
  • Register with Family Care Registry prior to start date
  • Provide physical exam results and TB test results prior to start date
  • Read Licensed Rule Book and sign required statement
  • Complete state required training
  • Read the James River Weekday Preschool and Preschool Academy Teacher Handbook and sign required statement
  • Complete ServeSafe food training
  • Complete 12 training clock hours per year (paid time)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

 
  • Ability to lift, push or pull 25 pounds
  • Ability to bend, twist, stoop, kneel, and reach
  • Ability to walk independently up and down a normal flight of 13-15 stairs
