Job Summary

Work closely with the Special Events Manager in the day-to-day set up and teardown of events held at James River Church and other duties as assigned. Responsibility consists of all aspects in maintaining the overall appearance and cleanliness of the South Campus James River Church.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties

 
  1. Provide support for event set-up and tear-down, including but not limited to large Special Events, as noted in the Church Calendar, and directed by the Special Events Manager.
  2. Special Events are to be noted as “all hands-on deck” and can be expected.
  3. To create work plans necessary to accomplish objectives and goals as agreed upon by the Special Events Manager.
  4. Continually keep equipment related to set up and logistics organized, clean, maintained, and repaired.
  5. Responsible to help maintain inventory of tables, chairs, and other building support equipment.
  6. Maintain organization and cleanliness of work areas as directed by the Special Events Manager.
  7. Have a working knowledge of the Church Calendar and work closely with the Calendar Coordinator.
  8. Maintain and update all assigned daily and weekly checklists and reports as directed by the Special Events Manager.
  9. Performs all other duties as assigned and required.

Job Requirements

 
  1. Availability to work extra hours as needed for special and/or large events held or hosted by James River Church.
  2. Ability to lift 80 lbs.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

 
  1. Basic knowledge of the operation and minor maintenance of custodial equipment.
  2. Solid organizational skills including attention to detail.
  3. Possess effective human relations and communication skills to work proactively with staff and the community.
  4. Ability to make independent decisions, issue clear and concise oral and written instructions, and follow the same as required.
  5. Ability to read and correctly interpret SDS (Safety Data Sheets).
  6. Exhibit good judgment, honesty, integrity, responsibility, and punctuality through the utilization of professional work standards
  7. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervising personnel, co-workers, and the public.
  8. Be able to manage multiple projects at once with no decline in quality control.
  9. Flexibility with working in a culture of improvement.
