Mark 14:26-31 ESV
And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives. And Jesus said to them, "You will all fall away, for it is written, 'I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.' But after I am raised up, I will go before you to Galilee." Peter said to him, "Even though they all fall away, I will not." And Jesus said to him, "Truly, I tell you, this very night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times." But he said emphatically, "If I must die with you, I will not deny you." And they all said the same.

2nd Prophecy

And Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away…”

And Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away, for it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’”

“Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, against the man who stands next to me,” declares the Lord of hosts. “Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered…”
1. All the disciples would fall away:

And Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away…”
2. He would be struck by God:
Mark 14:27b ESV
“…for it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’”

3. He would be raised from the dead:

4. He would meet the disciples in Galilee:

“…I will go before you to Galilee.”
5. Peter would 3 times that night deny that he knew Jesus:
Mark 14:30 ESV
And Jesus said to him, "Truly, I tell you, this very night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times."
3rd Pride
1. Pride of competition:

And they began to question one another, which of them it could be who was going to do this. A dispute also arose among them, as to which of them was to be regarded as the greatest.

2. Pride of self confidence:

And a little later someone else saw him and said, "You also are one of them." But Peter said, "Man, I am not." And after an interval of about an hour still another insisted, saying, "Certainly this man also was with him, for he too is a Galilean." But Peter said, "Man, I do not know what you are talking about." And immediately, while he was still speaking, the rooster crowed. And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered the saying of the Lord, how he had said to him, "Before the rooster crows today, you will deny me three times." And he went out and wept bitterly.
