1st Satan’s Assignment
Ezekiel 28:11-13 ESV
Moreover, the word of the Lord came to me: "Son of man, raise a lamentation over the king of Tyre, and say to him, Thus says the Lord God: "You were the signet of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering, sardius, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, emerald, and carbuncle; and crafted in gold were your settings and your engravings. On the day that you were created they were prepared.
Ezekiel 28:14-15 ESV
You were an anointed guardian cherub. I placed you; you were on the holy mountain of God; in the midst of the stones of fire you walked. You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created, till unrighteousness was found in you.

2nd Satan’s Apostasy

You said in your heart, 'I will ascend to heaven; above the stars of God I will set my throne on high;

3rd Satan’s Authority

4th Satan’s Activity

1. Satan is looking for people to devour

The LORD said to Satan, “Where have you come from?” Satan answered the LORD, “From roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it.”
2. Satan lies and prompts people to lie
John 8:44 ESV
You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
2 Corinthians 11:13b-15a ESV
even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness.

But Peter said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back for yourself part of the proceeds of the land?
3. He blinds the minds of unbelievers
2 Corinthians 4:4 ESV
In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
4. Satan tempts people to sin

He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?

1 Corinthians 7:5 NIV
Do not deprive each other except perhaps by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.
5. Satan leads people away from close relationship with Christ
2 Corinthians 11:3 ESV
But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.
6. Satan plucks the Word of God out of people’s hearts and chokes faith
Mark 4:15 ESV
And these are the ones along the path, where the word is sown: when they hear, Satan immediately comes and takes away the word that is sown in them.
1 Thessalonians 3:5b ESV
I sent to learn about your faith, for fear that somehow the tempter had tempted you and our labor would be in vain.
7. Satan persecutes believers
Revelation 2:10 ESV
Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and for ten days you will have tribulation. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.
8. Satan fights against the spread of the gospel
1 Thessalonians 2:17b–18 ESV
we endeavored the more eagerly and with great desire to see you face to face, because we wanted to come to you—I, Paul, again and again—but Satan hindered us.
9. Satan accuses Believers before God
Zechariah 3:1 ESV
Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him.
Revelation 12:10 ESV
And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, "Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God.
5th Satan’s Abyss
Revelation 20:10 ESV
and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

We know that God’s children do not make a practice of sinning, for God’s Son holds them securely, and the evil one cannot touch them.
