The Power of a Sound Mind
2 Corinthians 10:3-5
For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
1. Your mind, without God, is at war with God.
Romans 8:7-8
“The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.”
Colossians 1:21
“Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of[a] your evil behavior.”
2 Corinthians 4:4
“The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”
Proverbs 16:32
“A man who leads his own mind is more powerful than he who captures a whole city.”
2. Your mind with God is delivered, rescued, and revived.
3. Your mind, aligned with God, is no longer affected by illogical, unfounded, and absurd thoughts.
Romans 12:2 (NLT)
“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
2 Timothy 1:7
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
Proverbs 23:7
“For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.”
Matthew 22:37
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your *mind.”’
Romans 12:2 (AMP)
And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].
4. You renew your mind so you can know God’s will.
Ephesians 4:23 (AMP)
“... and be continually renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh, untarnished mental and spiritual attitude]
5. Your current thoughts are perfectly designed to deliver your current outcome.
James 1:8
“he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”
